About Us

The property is believed to have been built in the 18th Century                                                                                                                           with 20th Century extensions.  It is 426 feet above sea level and enjoys spectacular, panoramic views, said by many to be one of the best views in Wales.  The farmhouse is surrounded by rolling green fields and there are no other houses for about a mile away.  It is approached by a little used lane with lots of primroses and other wild flowers on its edges in season.  From the property it is possible to see Cardigan Bay, Bardsey Island , The Llyn Peninsula, The Cambrian Mountains, Cader Idris, and sometimes Snowdon.  Just below the property are 2 Iron Age hillforts, Castell Mawr and Castell Bach and between them is The Dell of Slaughter  (Plant Galanas) where in ancient times a fierce battle took place.  There are sitting out areas on and around the lawns so on a nice day you can relax and enjoy the views.   There is a small lake in one of our fields which is usually full of bird life.  You will also probably see the buzzards or the redkites.    We purchased the property in 1995 and have lived here ever since.  It is so peaceful!  We carried out a lot of improvements. The property is not now a working farm but instead a smallholding.   There is plenty of easy parking at the property free of charge. The house has many period features-beams and old panelling, antiques and paintings, and beautiful antique light fitments. The lounge is in the oldest part of the house There is a log burning fire in the lounge together with a knole sofa and two other big comfortable sofas and easy chairs. Breakfast is taken in the large, recently modernised conservatory. Apart from the en suites in the bedrooms we have 2 extra toilets and an extra bathroom so that guests in bedrooms with shower only can take a bath if they wish. There is good reception for your mobile.  On request you can have access to the Internet on our computer which is set up for use by visitors as well as ourselves. We have converted one of the barns and live there ourselves with our 2 Burmese cats who are not allowed in the house where guests stay so guests allergic to cats do not need to worry.
